Madeleine Newkirk, a native Memphian, artist and writer, embarked on a five-week retreat in 2010 and it set her life in a new direction. Her retreat to Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY was comprised of R&R time plus 6 workshops—drawing, meditation, yoga, ecstatic chant, 7 days of silence and emotional connection. Omega draws participants and presenters from all over the globe and Madeleine discovered in them, a world of unique ideas and concepts that were both eye-opening and expansive.
During the retreat Madeleine also uncovered repressed emotions of unfelt grief that she unknowingly carried with her. Alongside this grief, she found that there was also an emergence of joy and creativity, a newfound skip in her step, and a desire to explore color through art. In 2010 a quest began for Madeleine to explore all things metaphysical and to come to know herself fully. Two years post retreat Madeleine met Mada Dalian (Creator of the |
Dalian Method) and knew that her search was complete. She came to realize that all of the answers that she had been seeking truly resided inside of herself. With Mada's brilliant self-healing modality, Madeleine was able to easily access her inner wisdom. After working with Mada for 5 years, Madeleine decided to train to become one of the first 15 facilitators of the Dalian Method (DM) worldwide.
Madeleine has a BA in Studio Art from Tulane University and more recently attended the Art League School in Alexandria, VA. She also has participated in coursework in the art of facilitation for professionals in process-oriented learning environments with Stewart Cubley of the Painting Experience.
As a seeker, Madeleine has been exposed to numerous self-healing modalities, including Healing Touch, The Body Code, PSYCH-K® and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Madeleine is ever expanding her experiences—attending trainings, retreats and workshops. She has a meditation and breathwork practice and she incorporates DM and other healing modalities in her daily life. |
